This blog serves as a place to update everyone following Tom's journey through battling leukemia. It was started in 2012 and here we are in 2015. The main page is the blog which has all the updates and then there is also a tab of resources for anyone else who is needing or interested in resources for cancer patients.
Tom and I were married in July 2011 and he was diagnosed a week after our first anniversary in July 2012. He took a long time to get into remission as he apparently has a very resilient form of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Since his diagnosis he has gone through two different allogeneic stem cell transplants. Unfortunately, Tom has relapsed a couple of times now and we find ourselves here (Jan 2015) in the hospital again with him having just finished chemo again and praying for enough graft vs. host to combat the leukemia. We have faith that he can beat this and he is by far the bravest and strongest person that I know to have gone through as much chemo and two transplants, two DLI's and just all the ups and downs associated with this awful disease and its treatment. Not only does this battle take physical strength, but it's incredibly mental as well and he has gone proven to be the most determined person I know.
